- I was able to complete the decrease portion of the beanie using my 16” cable but if you find it tricky switching to DPN’s may be helpful.

- Fits average sized teen or woman’s head (21 -23 inch circumference)
- Finished Messy Bun Beanie should measure approximately 8 inches tall and 8.5 inches wide

Cast on 72 sts, pm and and join for working in the round.
ROW 1 – 10
- *k1, p1*
- Repeat from * to * around (72 sts)
BODY
- K all sts (72 sts)
Continue until your beanie measures 6.5 inches tall (approximately 21 rows)
DECREASE
ROW 1
- *p1, k1, k2tog*
- Repeat from * to * around (54 sts)
ROW 2
- *p1, k2*
- Repeat from * to * around (54 sts)
ROW 3
- *p1, k2tog*
- Repeat from * to * around (36 sts)
ROW 4 – 8
- *p1, k1*
- *Repeat from * to * around (36 sts)
FINISHING
Loosely bind off all remaining sts knitwise, fasten off and weave in ends!
