  • You can use any yarn you like, I used Lion Brand Fast-Track

ABBREVIATIONS

  • slst – Slip Stitch
  • ch – Chain
  • sc – Single Crochet
  • scblo – Single Crochet in Back Loop Only

DIMENSIONS

Approximately 8 inches wide and 7 inches tall (please note that the dimensions will change if a different yarn is used)

PATTERN

Begin by chaining 13

ROW 1 

  • 2 sc in second ch from hook
  • sc in the next 10 stitches
  • 5 sc in last stitch

*You will now work across the bottom of the chain

  • sc in the next 10 stitches
  • 2 sc in last stitch (the stitch you started the row on)
  • slst to first sc (29 stitches)

ROW 2 

  • ch 1 
  • 2 sc in next 2 stitches
  • sc in the next 10 stitches
  • 2 sc in next 2 stitches
  • sc in next stitch
  • 2 sc in next 2 stitches
  • sc in the next 10 stitches
  • 2 sc in next 2 stitches
  • slst to first sc (37 stitches)

ROW 3

  • ch 1
  • 2 sc in next stitch
  • sc in next stitch
  • 2 sc in next stitch
  • sc in the next 12 stitches
  • 2 sc in next stitch
  • sc in next stitch

  • Do not join

*Rows 5 – 19 will be worked in continuous rounds, meaning you won’t join at the end of each row. Use a stitch marker to mark the first stitch of each round to keep track of the row numbers.

ROW 5 – 19

  • sc around

*If you would like to change the height of your bag, add or remove rows between Row 5 and 19

ROW 20

  • sc around 
  • Your last stitch may be off centre from the middle of the side of your bag, if it is, continue to sc until you reach the middle (approx. 4 -5 stitches)
  • slst to next stitch to join

*If you would like to change the length of the handles, add or remove chains in Row 21.

ROW 21

  • ch 1
  • sc in the next 5 stitches
  • ch 26, skip the next 13 stitches
  • sc in the next 10 stitches
  • ch 26, skip the next 13 stitches
  • sc in the next 4 stitches
  • slst to beginning sc (19 sc, 52 ch)

ROW 22

  • ch 1 
  • sc in each stitch around
  • slst to first sc (71 stitches)

ROW 23

  • ch 1 
  • slst in each stitch around
  • slst to first slst (71 stitches)

AND DONE! Fasten off and weave in ends.
