YARN
You’ll need approximately 65 yards of Weight 6 Yarn in 3 colours, I suggest Bernat Softee Chunky or Lion Brand Thick & Quick

5 sts and 7 rows = 2 inches
NOTES
- I was able to complete the decrease portion of the beanie using my 16” cable but if you find it tricky switching to DPN’s may be helpful.

DIMENSIONS
- Fits average sized teen or woman’s head (21 -23 inch circumference)
- Finished Messy Bun Beanie should measure approximately 8 inches tall and 8.5 inches wide

BRIM
In Colour A cast on 42 sts, pm and and join for working in the round.
ROW 1 – 6
- *k1, p1*
- Repeat from * to * around (42 sts)
BODY
ROW 1 – 6 Continuing in Colour A
- K all sts (42 sts)
ROW 7 – 12 in Colour B
- K all sts (42 sts)
ROW 13 – 18 in Colour C
- K all sts (42 sts)
DECREASE
ROW 1
- *k1, k2tog*
- Repeat from * to * around (28 sts)
ROW 2
- K all sts (28 sts)
ROW 3
- *k2, k2tog*
- Repeat from * to * around (21 sts)
FINISHING
Loosely bind off all remaining sts knitwise, fasten off and weave in ends!
